About aqoFUEL

aqoFUEL turns the UK’s official fuel price data into something you can use: where fuel is cheaper, how your area compares and how prices have moved.

Where the prices come from

Under the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025, fuel retailers must report their prices to the UK Government’s Fuel Finder scheme, which publishes them as open data. aqoFUEL collects every published Fuel Finder file (usually twice a day), keeps it unchanged, and has a continuous record from 16 February 2026.

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. aqoFUEL is not affiliated with the Fuel Finder scheme. If a price is wrong, please report it to Fuel Finder.

Latest prices and freshness

A forecourt’s price is the latest one its retailer reported. We show when it was reported and never change the timestamp. Prices not updated for more than 30 days are marked out of date and are left out of averages and “cheapest” rankings, as are prices flagged by obvious errors (for example 1.30 instead of 130.0, or 999.9 placeholders) and forecourts flagged as closed.

How averages are calculated

Your location

aqoFUEL only uses your location if you press “Use my location”, and your browser asks your permission first. The position is rounded to about 100 metres in your browser, sent only to look up nearby forecourts, and not stored. There are no accounts, and no tracking or advertising cookies. You can always search by town or postcode instead.

What is not here yet

Council-area statistics, price alerts and route planning are planned for later releases. Coverage of individual fuels varies: not every forecourt sells every fuel.

Current data: statistics to 12 October 2026; forecourt prices from the Fuel Finder update of 13 Oct, 16:00; release 2026-10-13-200126Z.
